Every good candy company starts with a recipe. Ours started with a mother.
Back in 1921, a Canadian chocolate salesman named Charles See moved to California with his family and his widowed mother, Mary. Charles had a dream of starting his own candy company, and Mary had something even more valuable — a stack of her own original candy recipes that she'd been perfecting for years. Together, they opened the very first shop, selling Mary's delicious confections made from those very recipes.
The idea was simple: make candy the way it should be made. No shortcuts. No fillers. Just real ingredients handled with care. That philosophy became the foundation of everything we do, and it hasn't changed in over a hundred years.
What We Make
We're a chocolate and candy company at heart, but our range goes way beyond a simple box of chocolates. If you've ever wandered into a candy shop and felt completely overwhelmed by choices, you know the feeling. So let's walk through what we actually make.
Boxed Chocolates. This is where it all started. Our assorted chocolate boxes are filled with milk, dark, and white chocolate pieces — truffles, creams, caramels, nuts, chews. You can grab a classic assortment or go for something more specific like our Nuts & Chews box, which packs buttery caramels and nut-filled chocolates into every layer. There's also the Soft Center assortment if you prefer things on the creamier side.
Lollypops. Here's the thing about our lollypops — they're not just for kids. Our Butterscotch Lollypop has been a fan favorite for decades, made with real butter and heavy cream for a rich, smooth flavor that lasts. We also do Chocolate, Vanilla, and Café Latté. And if you want a mix, our Assorted Lollypops box has all four flavors together. The Little Pops are the same great taste in a bite-sized, stick-free version — perfect for parties or just keeping a bowl on your desk.
Brittle and Toffee. If you like crunch, this is your section. Our Peanut Brittle is made the old-fashioned way — thin, crispy, loaded with peanuts. The Victoria Toffee is a Mary See original: a solid block of crunchy toffee made with whole almonds, coated in milk chocolate, and sprinkled with chopped almond bits. It even comes with a mini hammer so you can crack it into pieces. Sounds gimmicky until you try it — then it just makes sense.
Truffles. We tested over 250 recipes before we were happy with our truffles, and it shows. Our truffles have a smooth, creamy center covered in a chocolate shell that snaps just right. The Egg Nog Truffle is a seasonal favorite, with an egg nog-flavored cream center and a hint of spice, all wrapped in chocolate.
Gift Packs and Sets. If you're shopping for someone else — or just want a bit of everything — our gift packs take the guesswork out of it. The Classic Gift Pack comes with over two pounds of our bestsellers: Assorted Chocolates, Molasses Chips, Peanut Brittle, Little Pops, and Milk Chocolate Drops, all in a box wrapped with a sheer bow. The More the Merrier Gift Pack is even bigger, with over five pounds of sweets in a keepsake box.
Seasonal and Limited Items. Throughout the year, we release special items for holidays and occasions. Think chocolate Santas at Christmas, heart-shaped boxes for Valentine's Day, and seasonal flavors that only stick around for a few weeks. We also do sugar-free options for anyone watching their sugar intake, because everyone deserves a treat.
How We Do It
We still follow Mary's approach: quality without compromise. That means using premium ingredients — real butter, heavy cream, whole almonds, quality chocolate — and skipping the preservatives that most commercial candy relies on. It also means our products have a shorter shelf life than you might be used to. That's not a flaw. It's a sign that what you're eating is actually fresh.
Everything is made in our own kitchens, where the recipes haven't really changed since 1921. We still hand-decorate many of our pieces. We still taste-test obsessively. And we still believe that a piece of candy, done right, can make someone's entire day better.

Over a century later, we've grown from that single shop to hundreds of locations and a global online store. Some of our customers are the grandchildren of our first customers.
